KMVE (106.9 FM "Classic Top 40 106.9") is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to California City, California, USA, it broadcasts from Palmdale and serves the Antelope Valley area. The station is owned by High Desert Broadcasting Company.
History
KCEL signed on as 106.9 K-Cell with a variety format, intensive to jazz, country music and oldies, but had many different specialty shows hosted locally in California City, California, including Rock music on Wednesday nights. In September 2003, KCEL changed programming formats to Oldies for a short time before being sold to High Desert Broadcasting, at which point the format and changed programming format to its current Regional Mexican format, targeting the Antelope Valley. On January 1, 2009, KCEL changed its call letters to KMVE (previous call letters on 96.1). KMVE is a classic hits format branded as Classic Top 40 106.9.
