KDE Applications is a bundle of applications and supporting libraries released on a common release schedule and that are designed for KDE desktops environments KDE Plasma 4 and KDE Plasma 5, which are primarily used on Linux. The applications in KDE Applications were previously released as part of the KDE Software Compilation. KDE Applications is composed of over 100 applications and is in the process of being ported from KDE Platform 4 to KDE Frameworks 5. Examples of prominent applications in the bundle include the file manager Dolphin, text editor Kate, archiving tool Ark and terminal emulator Konsole.

Feature releases of KDE Applications are released every four months with bugfix releases in each intervening month. A date-based version scheme is used, which is composed of the year and month. A third digit is used for bugfix releases.[3]
