Josephine Thrane (née Buch; 5 April 1820 – 30 September 1862) was a Norwegian teacher and political activist. She was born in Bragernes, and was married to Marcus Thrane. From 1841 to 1846 she was running a private school for boys and girls, along with her husband. From 1854 she published the periodical Arbeider-Foreningernes Blad, which her husband had started in 1849, and she was also editor for some period. During the seven years time when her husband was imprisoned, she suffered from both cholera and tuberculosis, and she died in Christiania in 1862, at the age of 42.[1][2]
