John Francis Murphy (September 13, 1924 – January 29, 2003) was an American professional basketball player.[1] Murphy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and attended Simon Gratz High School. He played for one season in the Basketball Association of America with the New York Knicks and Philadelphia Warriors, but was not a member of the latter when the team won the inaugural 1947 BAA championship.
