Iwatsuki-ku (岩槻区?) is a ward of the city of Saitama, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. It was formed on April 1, 2005 when the city of Iwatsuki was incorporated into the city of Saitama.

Population and area
The first population count was held on July 1, 2006, and the ward had an estimated population of 111,723. The total area remains the same at 49.16km².[citation needed]

Iwatsuki-ku is surrounded by Minuma-ku (west), Midori-ku (southwest), and the cities of Kawaguchi (south), Koshigaya (southeast), Kasukabe (northeast), Shiraoka (north), and Hasuda (northwest).
History
- July 1, 1954: Iwatsuki gained city status.
- April 1, 2005: Iwatsuki merged into the city of Saitama and became Iwatsuki-ku.
