Iowa State University's College of Human Sciences was established in 2005, as the result of a merger of the now defunct College of Education and College of Family and Consumer Sciences, and therefore, is currently the newest college of Iowa State University. The college consists of

History

College of Education

Formed in 1968, the College of Education at Iowa State University was composed of three academic departments, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, and Health and Human Performance.

Merger

Officially formed in 1959, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences got its current name in 1990 and can trace its history back to 1898, when liberal arts and sciences were a part of the school's Division of Science and Philosophy.[1] Since the school's beginning, Iowa State's founders had intended to produce well-rounded students
