It was of religious importance to the Chumash. Hollister Peak is on private property but within certain days of the year the peak is open to the public to climb during holidays and for Indian tribes for religious purposes. The peak has about 5 visible trails on the east side and several other trails also on the west side of the peak which faces the 7th sister on Morro Bay rock.
