The division comprises the districts of Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind and Sirsa.It is named after the city Hisar which was a fort in the late 10th century. The Gujri Mehel fort can still be visited. It has a network of underground tunnels through which the local Rajah could escape.[when?]
