Overview and history

Hendersonville High School is a public school that was chartered in 1901 and then moved into its present facility in 1926. The site of this school was once a plum thicket.

Although the school is one of tradition, it is also a leader in new and innovative approaches to meet the current needs of public education. Twenty percent of the current teaching staff are National Board Certified Teachers or currently pursuing their certification. Many teachers worked in their discipline in industry or management before pursuing their teaching careers.

The students are served by three administrators, all of whom spent time in the classroom before taking on administrative responsibilities.

Each year the Senior class performs a "Senior Play". This is a tradition much like many others at this school.

Grade range

Hendersonville High School is an Honors School of Excellence that serves grades 9 through 12.
