Harman Baweja (born 13 November 1980) is an Indian actor and a dancer. He debuted in Bollywood with Love Story 2050.
Early life
Harman Baweja was born in Chandigarh to film director Harry Baweja and producer Pammi Baweja.[2] He attended the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai and then the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2009, Baweja changed his name to Harman S Baweja following numerology. The "S" in his name is a tribute to his grandfather.
Career
His debut film in Bollywood was the sci-fi romance Love story 2050 produced by his mother Pammi Baweja and directed by his father Harry Baweja. This was a box office disaster in spite of being a home production and crashed in week two after its release. Most call it a trade disaster as it could not retrieve the cost of its budget and it made Adlabs lose 60 crore rupees.
In 2009, he appeared in Victory which was an Indian film based on cricket. This was one of Bollywood's expensive movies to date. This movie had notable appearances by both Indian and international cricketers to make the film look very authentic. In spite of all this, the film could only rake up one crore rupees after its release and was a miserable failure at the box office.
His next movie was What's Your Raashee? which starred him and Priyanka Chopra and Priyanka has done 12 different roles in this film. Critics gave mixed reviews for this film and it was a major commercial disaster and could only make 1.2 crores at the box office.[3]
He received good reviews for his blink-and-gone cameo in the movie Gori Tere Pyaar Mein in 2013.
Personal life
Harman Baweja had an on and off relationship with co-star Priyanka Chopra. On February 19, 2014, Baweja confirmed being in a relationship with actress Bipasha Basu.[4] In December 2014, Basu had confirmed that they had broken up. [5]
