The Hallmark Channel is a cable television network that is transmitted to over 100 countries. They specializes in series and movies that are appropriate for the whole family. In all countries except the United States they were owned by NBCUniversal. The Hallmark name is licensed from Hallmark Cards, Inc.[1] They were all re-branded Universal Channel in the early 2010s.

Hallmark Channel is run by separate companies than the U.S. version, but have access to the Hallmark name and branding, along with the crown logo. They also have different programming and standards than Hallmark Channel USA.

Hallmark Channel Asia

The Asian version of Hallmark Channel was launched in 1997. Most of the program are all canned from US including Oprah and The Biggest Loser. Hallmark Channel Asia has four different feeds including the Philippine feed, which launched in middle of 2009.

This channel was replaced by Diva Universal (Asia) on September 19, 2010.

Hallmark Channel Australia

In Australia, the Hallmark Channel was re-branded to Universal Channel on July 1, 2010. The channel's content remained largely the same, where it supplements its United States programming with drama from Australia's largest producer of TV drama, Southern Star Group.

Hallmark Channel Central and Eastern Europe

Headquartered in the United Kingdom, this version was available in Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Bulgarian, and English.

On September 3, 2010 Hallmark Channel Hungary was shut down and Universal Channel started instead. On October 3, 2010 Hallmark Channel Romania was re-branded to DIVA Universal. It broadcasts with Romanian promos and advertising and Romanian and Bulgarian DVB subtitles over the original audio of the films.

Hallmark Channel Scandilux

Hallmark Channel Scandilux was a television channel broadcasting drama series and movies to the Benelux and Nordic countries. Most series on the channel originate in the United States, but there are also some series from other English-speaking countries. The channel closed July 20, 2011.

Universal Channel (Hallmark Channel) South Africa

In South Africa, the channel supplements mostly movies.

From March 24, 2010 Hallmark Channel have changed its name on "DStv" South Africa and now known as "Universal Channel".

Hallmark Channel in the UK and in Ireland

In the UK and Ireland, the Hallmark Channel was re-branded to Universal Channel on October 18, 2010. The channel continues to run mostly United States imports, including TV movies and drama such as House, Judging Amy, The District and the Law & Order franchise. The channel also runs the BBC drama Spooks. Australian drama series McLeod's Daughters has aired on the channel since its launch in 2001.

On 1 December 2010, the channel launched an Irish specific channel hosting localised advertising.

Hallmark Channel Italy

The Italian version of Hallmark Channel broadcasts mostly United States imports, like Judging Amy and 7th Heaven and McLeod's Daughters. It renamed under the name Diva Universal on April 1, 2011.[2]

Hallmark Channel Russia

In Russia Hallmark Channel was introduced in 1999 and since then became one of the most popular cable television channels after CNN.[3][4] Among the present programmes are McLeod's Daughters, House, Law & Order, Crossing Jordan, Murder in Mind, Midsomer Murders, Wild at Heart, Foyle's War.

In 2011, this channel has been renamed to Diva Universal.

Hallmark Channel Latin America

The Latin American version of Hallmark Channel was launched in Mexico as The Hallmark Entertainment Network in 1995. Most of its programming consists of American movies and series. It was replaced by Studio Universal on February 1, 2010.
