Greig City Academy is a mixed-sex secondary school within the English academy programme, in the London borough of Haringey.

Headteacher Paul Sutton says: "The successes of our students and the school as a whole are the result of a relentless focus on high standards of academic and personal achievement, positive attitudes towards learning and exemplary behaviour. We make sure the learning environment is well-ordered so that all students can feel safe and enjoy learning. Our students are the best ambassadors for the school - they are positive, lively and courteous and interact well with one another and with staff both in and out of the classroom."

The Greig Trust and the Church of England sponsor the Academy, which is an exempt charity under English law.[1] David Greig, a successful local businessman, founded the Greig Trust in memory of his mother in 1949.

The Academy has a thriving Sixth Form and links with many top universities.

Its outdoor education programme is generously supported by the Greig Trust and was declared by Ofsted to be a real strength of the school. The programme enables students across the school to experience activities such as abseiling, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, rock climbing and much more. The school has its own fleet of five boats.

There are more than 30 extra-curricular clubs at the school.

OFSTED

The last OFSTED report (November 2011) rated the school as "good with outstanding features." The reports says: "The academy offers all students a good education. Aspects of its provision, especially care, guidance and support, the contribution students make to their own and the local community, and the work undertaken with parents and carers, are outstanding. The arrangements for monitoring and tracking students' performance are challenging and effective."
