Greenwood Municipal Airport (ICAO: KHFY, FAA LID: HFY) is a city owned public use airport in Greenwood, a city in Johnson County, Indiana, United States. It is 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Indianapolis. The airport was founded in September 1947. It is primarily used for general aviation. The airport has a flight training program operated by Jeff Air Pilot Services.
Facilities and aircraft
Greenwood Municipal Airport covers an area of 148 acres (60 ha) at an elevation of 822 feet (251 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 1/19 with an asphalt surface measuring 5,100 by 75 feet (1,554 x 23 m) with approved GPS, VOR-A and NDB approaches. In 2013 the airport had roughly 29,565 aircraft operations, an average of 81 per day: 94% were general aviation, 3% air taxi and 3% military. In March of 2016, there were 106 aircraft based at this airport: 93 single-engine, 8 multi-engine and 5 jets.[1]
