"Gravity" is a song recorded by Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich. The song was written by Mikhail Nekrasov and Karen Kavaleryan. It is best known as Ukraine's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 held in Malmö, Sweden.[1] The song qualified the first semi-final of the competition on 14 May 2013 and placed 3rd in the final on 18 May 2013, scoring 214 points.[2]
Music Video
The music video of Gravity is set on a mysterious floating island. The first shot is of a metal flower which opens to reveal Ognevich in a silver chiffon dress. There is also a shot of a smoke filled room with Ognevich wearing a pink dress and singing. When the song changes from the classical to the pop section, there are shots of a floating island. Ognevich is pictured singing on the island, which has large forests and floating rose petals. There are also translucent, blue, glowing butterflies that appear in the air (a reference to the butterflies in the song). Towards the end of the chorus, the camera moves from inside the island to a shot of it floating. Colourful, large birds appear in a bubble. In the second verse, a new shot is introduced of Ognevich floating inside a bubble that is filled with diamonds, waving her hands gracefully above her head. Unicorns thunder down the paths of the island, and Ognevich reaches out to touch the unicorns. The chorus repeats again. In the bridge, the camera focusses in on the blue butterflies, before returning to the chorus again. The camera moves out of the island quickly as the song ends.
