Gran Canaria DO in the province of Las Palmas, in the region of Canary Islands, Spain
Gran Canaria Denominación de Origen (DO) covers the entire island of Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain) comprising 21 municipalities. It obtained its official status in 2003.
Grapes
Preferred varieties:
- Red: Negra Común or Listán negro, Negramoll, Tintilla and Malvasía rosada
- White: Malvasía, Gual, Marmajuelo or Bermejuela, Vijariego, Albillo and Moscatel de Alejandría
Also authorized:
- Red: Moscatel negra
- White: Listán blanco, Burrablanca, Torrontés, Pedro Jiménes and Brebal
