Geoff Clark (birth registered January→March 1920[1] — November 2008) birth registered in Wigton district, was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s and 1950s, playing at representative level for England, and at club level for Dewsbury, as a three-quarter back, he died in Drighlington.
Geoff Clark played at Centre, i.e. number 3, in Dewsbury's 4-13 defeat by Wigan in the Championship final during the 1946–47 season at Maine Road, Manchester on Saturday 21 June 1947.[2] Clark won caps for England while at Dewsbury in 1949 against Other Nationalities, in 1951 against Other Nationalities.[3]
Geoff Clark's marriage to Isabel B. Armstrong (birth registered October→December 1920 in Wigton district) was registered during July→September 1943 in Wigton district.[4] They had children; Patricia A. Clark (birth registered April→June 1947 in Dewsbury district — died 2008 (aged 60-61)), and Anthony J. Clark (birth registered July→September 1951 (age 72–73) in Dewsbury district.
Geoff Clark worked at Yorkshire Electric Transformer Company, Brewery Lane, Thornhill Lees.[5]
Geoff Clark was the last surviving member of Dewsbury RLFC's 1947 Championship final team and the oldest ex-player, he died after a lengthy illness, aged 88 in November 2008.[6]
