Gaslight Radio was an Australian indie rock band based in Melbourne. It was founded by brothers Martin and Rory Cooke along with Phil Roubin (bass) and Simon Piper (drums) on the Gold Coast in 1996.

The band recorded a 4 track demo in the Gold Coast hinterland which featured the song 'Tarmac and Line'. The Demo found its way to Mushroom Records, where the band signed with an independent offshoot – Lonely Guy Records. The first EP, "Torchin' Towns, Hankering Homes", was recorded over a weekend by Greg Wales in Sydney. The Band played several shows in the Gold Coast and Brisbane prior to the release of the EP, including co-headlining with another Gold Coast band, Pollen. After the release of the first EP, the band gained rotation on JJJ radio, and independent stations ZZZ and RRR. Interstate tours followed, including Gold Coast Big Day Out appearances, and a slot on the Brisbane Livid Festival. After extensive touring and notable supports, the band recorded their second EP, "Our Dolelove", in Melbourne during the winter of 1997 with the assistance of Charles Bickford from the Paradise Motel. Extensive touring was undertaken in support of the EP, including a national support with Even and Header. In late 1997, Gaslight Radio recorded tracks for the third EP, "Is By Bus", with Lindsey Gravina at Birdland studios in Melbourne. The song, Is by Bus received notable airplay. Phil Roubin departed the band, prior to their relocation from the Gold Coast to Melbourne, Australia. In 1998 Gaslight Radio's debut, "Hitch on the Leaves" was recorded and released to critical acclaim receiving an aria nomination. Between 2000 and 2006, the band recorded and released three more full-length albums with a rotating lineup of members. Gaslight Radio is on permanent hiatus with Rory and Martin Cooke pursuing solo projects.

The Cooke brothers grew up in the housing commission suburb of Burleigh Park, which no longer exists in name form.

GLR wrote over seventy songs. Members included Nick Treweek (2nd drummer), Matt Davis (keys), Emily Fullerton (keys), Alex Jarvis (guitar) Peter Mclean (guitar). Michael Regan (bass) and Cameron Teys (drums) make up GLR along with the Cooke brothers.
