František Blažek

František Blažek (1863–1944) is a Czech-born architect who designed a great number of Bosnia and Herzegovina buildings during Austro-Hungarian period.[1] In Bosnia and Herzegovina he is also known under names of Franz Blazek, Franz Blažek or Frank Blazek. Some of his noteworthy works include Mostar Gymnasium, Horice Masaryk Independence Tower in the Czech Republic, and Franz Josef Garrison in Sarajevo.[2][3]

František Blažek also designed three hotels in Sarajevo's suburb of Ilidža near the Vrelo Bosne: hotels Igman, Austria and Bosna. They were completed in 1895.[4]
