Sydney Hamlets was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in then British colony of New South Wales from 1856 to 1859, including what were then outer suburbs of Sydney and are now the inner suburbs of Paddington, Surry Hills, Redfern, Chippendale, Glebe, Camperdown, O'Connell Town (north Newtown), Balmain, North Sydney, Kirribilli and McMahons Point.
Two members were elected simultaneously, with voters casting two votes and the first two candidates being elected.[1]
