Eizo Kenmotsu (監物永三 Kenmotsu Eizō?, born February 13, 1948) is a Japanese gymnast, seven times world champion and three times Olympic champion.
Olympics
Kenmotsu competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City where he received a gold medal in team combined exercises, and a bronze medal in horizontal bar.[1]
He received a gold medal with the Japanese team at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, a silver medal in all-around individual, and bronze medals in pommel horse and parallel bars.[2]
At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal he received his third gold medal with the Japanese team, and individual silver medals in pommel horse and parallel bars.[3]
World championships
Kenmotsu had great success at the 1970 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, where Japan won the team competition, and he received five individual medals: gold medals in all-round and horizontal bar, and silver medals in floor exercises, pommel horse and parallel bars.
At the 1974 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships Japan again won the team competition. Kenmotsu received an individual gold medal in parallel bars, and bronze medals in all-around, pommel horse and horizontal bar.
At the 1978 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships Kenmotsu again won the gold medal in parallel bars, and a silver medal in individual all-around. Japan won the team competition again.
At the 1979 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships he received a silver medal with Japan in the team competition.
