Don Petrie
Donald John Mackay Petrie (May 22, 1922 – July 6, 2015) was a Canadian soccer player and head coach.
Don Petrie was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He played Vancouver St. Saviour's 1942-43, University of British Columbia 1943-46, St. Saviours again 1946-47, Vancouver City 1947-48.
Petrie coached the Vancouver Halecos, helping them win the Canadian club championship in 1956. He coached the Canadian national soccer team in 1957 in World Cup qualifying games against Mexico and United States.
On April 2000 Petrie was inducted as a Builder into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame.
Married to Grace Petrie and resides in White Rock, B.C. Canada. He has 3 children, Don, Robert, and Brenda. He has 4 grandchildren, Kelly, Whitney, Adam, and Steven. He died on July 6, 2015 at the age of 93.[1]
