Career
Klimowicz started his career at Instituto in the Argentine Primera B Nacional (second division) in 1993.[1] In 1996, he was sold to Rayo Vallecano of the Spanish La Liga but at the end of that first season with the club, they were relegated to the Segunda División (second division).[2] In his second season, Rayo finished eighth, failing to regain their place in the first division, but halfway through, in January 1998 he was sold to Real Valladolid of La Liga, and after only one and a half seasons with the club he returned to Argentina to play for Lanús.[3] In 2001 there were talks of him playing either for the Ukraine national football team or the Poland national football team, but at the end nothing became materialized. In December 2001, he was transferred to VfL Wolfsburg.[4] In May 2007, he joined Borussia Dortmund on a two.year contract.[5][6] In the winter transfer window 2008–09, he transferred to VfL Bochum. On 2 March 2010, he announced his retirement from professional football due to a hip injury.[7]
However, on 24 December 2010, Klimowicz decided to come back from retirement and re-joined his first team, Instituto, in the Argentine second division. He signed a one-year contract.[8]
