Daniel Thomas "Danny" Hylton (born 25 February 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Luton Town.

Career

Aldershot Town

Born in Camden, London, Hylton joined Aldershot Town aged 16 in 2005, when he was signed by Terry Brown. Among his appearances, Hylton played in their first League Cup game, when he came on as a substitute against Coventry City in the 3–1 loss, on 13 August 2008.[2] In his time at Aldershot, Hylton has so far scored 28 goals from 136 appearances, as well as appearing once for Harlow Town whilst on loan.

On 6 January 2011, Hylton agreed to sign for AFC Wimbledon, almost being signed by manager Terry Brown for the second time in his career,[3] before signing a one-year contract extension to remain at Aldershot Town under new manager Dean Holdsworth.

In May 2012, Hylton was given an eight-match ban and fined £1,000 after being found guilty of two charges of racial abuse.[4]

Rotherham United

On 18 June 2013, Hylton signed a two-year deal at Rotherham United, with the option of a third year.[5] He made his debut for the Millers in their 1–0 away win over Brentford on 5 October 2013.

Just over a week later on 15 October 2013, Rotherham loaned him out to Football League Two side Bury for a month.[6]

On 27 January 2014, Hylton joined AFC Wimbledon on loan for the remainder of the 2013–14 season.[7] Rotherham were promoted to the Championship at the end of the season, and Hylton was transfer-listed.[8]

Oxford United

Hylton joined Oxford United on a two-year deal in June 2014.[9] He ended the 2014–15 season as Oxford's top goalscorer with 16 goals (14 in the league).[10] On 3 April 2016 he scored Oxford's second goal in the final of the Football League Trophy at Wembley Stadium, which Oxford lost 3–2 to Barnsley.[11]

Luton Town

On 31 May 2016, Oxford United announced that Hylton had declined a new contract and signed for Luton Town of League Two.[12]
