Daniel Caspary (born 4 April 1976 in Karlsruhe) is a German politician and Member of the European Parliament for Baden-Württemberg. He is a member of the conservative Christian Democratic Union, part of the European People's Party.[1]
Early life and career
Caspary was born in 1976 in Karlsruhe, Germany. After serving in the federal German armed forces as first lieutenant in the reserve, he studied Technical economics at the University of Karlsruhe.[2] Alongside his studies he worked as assistant to the Vice Chairman of the Christian Democratic Union’s parliamentary group in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg, Peter Hauk. After graduating in 2002, he went on to work for J.P. Morgan in Frankfurt and London, and as an authorized representative of MVV Energy AG, Mannheim.[3]
Political career
Caspary was elected to the European Parliament in the 2004 elections, and since 2009 has been Coordinator of the EPP Group in the Committee on International Trade.[4] As shadow rapporteur, he has issued opinions on the Georgia–European Union Association Agreement (2014), the Moldova–European Union Association Agreement (2014) and on the general budget of the EU for the financial year 2015 (2014).

Personal life
Caspary is married and is father of two children.[5]
