DD Bangla (Bengali: ডিডি বাংলা) is a state-owned television channel telecasting from Doordarshan Kendra Kolkata, India.
DD Bangla is the Bengali language satellite channel supported by Doordarshan studios in Kolkata, Shantiniketan and Jalpaiguri, which are small regions near Kolkata. Launched in 2001 DD Bangla has entertainment serials, infotainment programmes, news and current affairs, social programmes and film programmes as its major content. The station also shows soap operas in the regional language. In terrestrial mode, DD Bangla is available to 97.1% of the population of West Bengal.[citation needed]
Programmes broadcast by the channel include Bibaho Obhijan, Rongo Tamaasha and Eto Sur Ar Eto Gaan.
