The Salvadoran President Cup Soccer

It is a new format where Salvadoran national cup football was played, you name niendo as President Cup and his first edition was played in 1999, resulting champion C.D. Águila of El Salvador

The President Cup is a tournament where Salvadoran soccer teams in the top three categories of Salvadoran league, divicion first, second and third, which, eight groups consisting of four teams per group, which will be drawn to conform, one week before the dispute of the national tournament President cup.

Format change

By 2014, the president of Salvadoran soccer cup renamed and renamed the national cup soccer EDESSA Independence of El Salvador.

This honor the framework of civic party patriotic month, and harnessing the league break through the participation of national team in Copa UNCAF, EDESSA carry out plans which will be the first edition of the Indepencia Cup, which will battle C.D. FAS vs C.D. Águila teams with the most titles of First Division in the national round.

Its first edition will be played next September 6 which will be held at the Cuscatlan Stadium El Salvador, where the two biggest national team keychain this C.D. FAS vs C.D. Águila which the end of the classical Independence nickname.
