Central South University of Forestry and Technology (CSUFT; simplified Chinese: 中南林业科技大学; traditional Chinese: 中南林業科技大學; pinyin: Zhōngnán Línyè Kējì Dàxué) is a university located in Changsha, Hunan, China.[1][2][3][4] The university covers a total area of 2,230 mu, with more than 101.3 square meters of floor space.[4][5]

As of fall 2013, the university has 3 campuses, a combined student body of 41,000 students, 2,510 faculty members.[4][5]

The university consists of 22 colleges, with 69 specialties for undergraduates, 97 specialties for master's degree candidates and 44 specialties for Doctoral candidates. At present, the university has 7 research institutions and research centres, including 4 national engineering research centres, 3 key national discipline, 1 national key laboratory.[4][5]

History

Central South University of Forestry and Technology was founded in 1958, it was initially called "Hunan Academy of Forestry".[4]

In November 2001, Hunan School of Forestry and Hunan Forestry Industrial School merged into Hunan Academy of Forestry.

In December 2005, it was renamed "Central South University of Forestry and Technology".
