Celso Maffei

Celso Maffei (c. 1425 – 1508) was an Italian priest, man of letters, and bibliophile of the Canons Regular of the Lateran.

Biography

Born in Verona in about 1425, he was a clergyman of strict Lateran canons. He wrote several works of a theological nature and on monastic controversies. He made collections of valuable books and printed codes. These were acquired by various libraries in Veneto.
