This is a category of people born in or strongly associated with the now Polish city of Elbląg, in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The city was founded as Elbing in 1237 in (Pogesania) Pomesania, historical regions of Prussia. It was part of Royal Prussia associated with the king of Poland-Lithuania from 1466 to 1772[1] . Its official name remained Elbing until 1945, but other names[2] , including Elbląg [3], were in those days in use as well. In 1945 it became Polish Elbląg.
