Bruce William Miller III (born August 6, 1987) is an American football tight end for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Early years

Miller has been playing football since he was 3 feet tall on the SCRA (South Cherokee Recreation Association) Redskins. His high school coach was Mike O'Brien. As linebacker and tight end, Bruce led Woodstock High School to its second ever playoff appearance.

College

He played college football at UCF, redshirting his first year and winning All-Conference honors for four years.In college,he played defensive end. He was named CUSA Defensive Player of the Year in his junior and senior seasons.

Professional career

Miller scored his first NFL touchdown on a 30 yard pass from Alex Smith on November 6, 2011 in a game against the Washington Redskins.

On March 20, 2014, Miller signed a three-year contract extension with the 49ers.[1]

In the 2016 offseason, Miller switched positions to tight end to better fit new head coach Chip Kelly's offensive scheme.

Personal

On June 2, 2015, Miller pleaded no-contest to a misdemeanor domestic-violence charge against his fiancee that occurred earlier in March 2015.[2] He was ordered to court-mandated counseling.
