Branchiostoma floridae

Branchiostoma floridae (the Florida lancelet) is a lancelet of the genus Branchiostoma. The genome of this species has been sequenced, revealing that among the chordates, the morphologically simpler tunicates are actually more closely related to vertebrates than lancelets.[1]
