The Beverly D. Stakes is a Grade 1 flat horse race in the United States for thoroughbred fillies and mares aged three-years-old and upward. It is a race of the Breeders' Cup Challenge.
The Beverly D. Stakes is the fillies' counterpart of the Arlington Million and is raced on the same day and on the same turf course at Arlington Park, Arlington Heights, Illinois in August. The race currently carries a purse of $700,000. The distance is 1 3⁄16 miles (approximately 1,900 metres).
The winner of the race automatically qualifies for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf.[1]
The race was first run in 1987, but was not run the following season due to refurbishment at Arlington Park. It was also not run in 1998/99 as the track was closed during this time.
