Backstreet Symphony is the first album by Thunder. The band was signed with EMI after performing a demo audition in 1989, and soon began recording their first album. It was released in early 1990[2] . The band achieved its first two UK Top 30 hits with singles from this album; the title track reached #25 and, the following year, "Love Walked In" reached #21. The album was later certified 'Silver' by the BPI.[3] In 1991, it was released by EMI in Japan with a bonus disc of live tracks. In 2009, to coincide with the band's retirement tour, a 2 disc version of the album was released, including bonus tracks and live recordings.
