Career

Sinha worked for two years in New Delhi as an engineer before moving to Mumbai (then named Bombay) on 4 December 1990. He worked as an assistant director to Pankaj Parashar until 1994 before branching out as an independent director for television for Zee TV. He received notice for his work on Shikasht, the flagship show of the TV Network "In Mumbai". This was followed by the TV show Sea Hawks for UTV. Sea Hawks was the number one show for thirty-five weeks across all networks. 72 episodes later, he turned to directing music videos.[citation needed]

In 2000, he left work on music videos to start his first feature film Tum Bin. In July 2001, both Tum Bin and Aks were released on the same day. Tum Bin beat Aks in box office receipts.[citation needed]

Sinha's second feature Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai, also with lesser known actors in lead roles as was Tum Bin, did not fare well at the box office.[citation needed] His third film, the multi-starrer Dus, had the biggest opening weekend for the year 2005.[citation needed] This was followed by Tathastu (2006) and his last release Cash (2007). Ra.One a Highest Budget of 1.8 billion (US$27 million) movie, released on diwali of 2011, was considered a much awaited film of 2011.[citation needed]

Sinha is founder and owner of Benaras Media Works, the production company he established in 2012 to produce his film and television projects.[5][6]
