André Turpin (born 1966) is a Canadian cinematographer, film director and screenwriter.[1] As a cinematographer, he is a two-time Genie Award winner for Best Cinematography, for Maelström at the 21st Genie Awards[2] and for Incendies at the 31st Genie Awards,[3] and a five-time winner of the Jutra Award for Best Cinematography, for Maelström, Incendies, C'est pas moi, je le jure!, Un crabe dans la tête and Mommy. As a director he is best known for Un crabe dans la tête, which was Canada's submission to the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 75th Academy Awards.[4]

He has also been nominated five other times for Best Cinematography at each of the Genie and Jutra Awards, and was a nominee for Best Screenplay for Un crabe dans la tête at the 22nd Genie Awards. At the 2nd Canadian Screen Awards, Turpin and Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette were nominees for Best Live Action Short Drama for Ina Litovski.
