Ali Elsamni , (Japanese: エルサムニー・アリー Erusamunī Arī, Arabic: علي السمني‎‎, born November 1, 1986 in Okinawa, Japan) is an Egyptian-Japanese football player who is the son of an Egyptian father and a Japanese mother. Elsamni is listed as 5'9" (180 cm) and 156 pounds (71 kg)[1]

Ali is from a sporting family; his younger brother Osama Elsamni plays forward for FK Teplice of the Czech Republic, and his father Ibrahim was a player on the Egypt national football team.[2]

Career

Born in Japan, Ali Elsamni was a member on his elementary and junior high school teams in Okinawa, for five years starting in 1997.

Al-Sekka Al-Hadid

In June 2002, He joined Egypt Railways Club Al-Sekka Al-Hadid youth team. His steady performances with U-17 team gave him a place in the first team although being 17 years old, as well as a place in the National Team.

Ali became a regular player in the first team squad since January 2003, and helped them promote to the Egyptian Second Division in April 2004.[3]

In March 2003, Ali was selected in the Egypt national football team U-17 by the headcoach Farouk El Sayed.

Tokyo Verdy

In August 2004, Ali transferred to Tokyo Verdy Club in Japan's J. League. He was listed in the first team Squad, but he did not get a starting place for two years.

Shobi University

In April 2006, and upon his request Ali joined Shobi University as a special athlete to play soccer and study with the recommendation of Tokyo Verdy Club. He is comepting in Japanese Universities League. This is to end on December 2009 when he graduate.

During July 2009, Ali Elsamni was on a trial with Romanian side FC Astra Ploieşti, with the aim to join in January, but the negotiations failed due to financial aspects.[4]
