Ajith Kollam is an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema. He has acted in more than 500 films in all South Indian languages.[1] He mainly acts in villain roles.
Background
Ajith hails from Kottayam, Kerala as the son of Padmanabhan and Saraswathi. He has an elder brother, Ajay and a younger sister, Ajitha. Since his father was a Railway Station Master who was working at Kollam, he bought up there and so he adopted Kollam as suffix for his name. He went to director Padmarajan to become an Assistant director but seeing his talent Padmarajan cast him in his movie Parannu Parannu Parannu and thus making his debut Malayalam movie as Parannu Parannu Parannu in 1984. After that he was a permanent actor of all Padmarajan movies. He is turning a director and script writer in an upcoming movie Malayalam movie Calling Bell.[2]
Family
He is married to Prameela. The couple have a daughter Gayathri and a son Sreehari.[3]
