Aimée Rene Horne (born 11 May 1985), is an Australian actress and singer. She has worked in theatre and film as well as singing in bands and recording for film soundtracks. She is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).[1] As of 2012, she has lived in Sydney.

Early life and acting studies

Born in Broken Hill, Horne moved to Adelaide with her mother when she was eight.[2] She attended the Flinders University Drama Centre in 2004 and 2005 and then moved to Sydney to continue her studies in acting at NIDA.[2]

Career

In 2008 Horne filmed for television series East West 101,[3] performed in Gallipoli at the Sydney Theatre Company under the direction of Nigel Jamieson,[3][4][5] and sang Benjamin Speed's title track for a short film, Street Angel.[6] and in the AFI Award winning documentary A Northern Town.[7][8] She also performed in In The Solitude of Cottonfields,[3] being credited by one reviewer with a standout performance in a script which he described as "impenetrable" and "a virtually actionless two-hander".[9] In 2011, she performed a prominent role in the docudrama Recipe for Murder.
