A Date with the Falcon is the second in a series of films about a suave detective nicknamed The Falcon. The 1942 sequel film features many of the same characters as its predecessor The Gay Falcon.

Plot

Waldo Samson has discovered how to create cheap synthetic diamonds that are nearly identical to actual diamonds, as he demonstrates to diamond industry representatives and New York Police Detective Mike O'Hara. Samson only wishes to provide them for the American defense effort, but O'Hara insists on providing him with a police guard. However, ruthless criminals abduct him to gain his secret. O'Hara recruits a reluctant Gay Lawrence, known as the "Falcon", to search for him. Meanwhile, Helen Reed, the Falcon's fiancee, becomes increasingly frustrated as the crime solving interferes with her marriage plans.
