The 2023 Imola FIA Formula 2 round was a planned motor racing event scheduled to be held between 19 and 21 May 2023 at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. It was planned to be the fifth round of the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship, and was supposed held in support of the 2023 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. However, due to the heavy flooding caused by Storm Minerva in the Emilia-Romagna region, the entire event was cancelled alongside the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and the Imola Formula 3 round;[1][2] parts of the circuit, including the Formula 2 paddock, were inundated by floodwaters.[3]

Ahead of the weekend, the Protezione Civile of Italy placed the Emilia-Romagna region – the place where the race was supposed to be held – under a red weather alert; more than a week prior, the same region had been affected by torrential rain, leading to floods and landslides. On 17 May 2023, it was announced that the entire event – including the supporting Formula 2 and Formula 3 rounds – would be cancelled due to the adverse weather brought by Storm Minerva, the culprit for the second round of flooding in the region.[2] A day prior, Formula One personnel were ordered to leave the circuit as a precautionary measure after the Santerno river saw a rapid rise in its water level.[4][5] The Italian ministry then called for the race to be postponed;[6][7] Formula One then responded by releasing a statement that confirmed the cancellation of the event.[1][2] After the cancellation, it was revealed that parts of the Imola Circuit have already been flooded.[3]
