The 1993–94 Miami Heat season is the sixth season of the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA).[1] Led by the scoring of Glen Rice, the shooting of Steve Smith, and the rebounding of Rony Seikaly, the Heat finished fourth in the Atlantic Division with a 42–40 record, their franchise-best record at the time. In the first round of the playoffs, they faced the Atlanta Hawks. In Game 2 at The Omni, a brawl occurred and a few players were suspended. Grant Long was suspended for one game, Keith Askins suspended for three, and Hawks reserve Doug Edwards suspended for two.[2] After taking a 2-1 lead, the Heat would lose the series in five games.
