The 1990 Sandown 500 was an endurance race for Group 3A Touring Cars.[1][2] The event was held at Sandown Park on 9 September 1990.[1] The race distance was 161 laps of the 3.10 km circuit,[1] totaling 499 km.

The race was Round 1 of the 1990 Australian Endurance Championship and Round 1 of the 1990 Australian Manufacturers' Championship.[3]
