XBIZ is an American publisher of business news and business information for the sex industry.[1][2][3]

In addition to its flagship "Xbiz.com" website, XBIZ publishes two monthly trade magazines, hosts winter and summer exhibition & industry conferences, and facilitates networking among adult online professionals through a business-to-business (B2B) professional networking service.[4] XBIZ company representatives are frequently cited in mainstream media articles about business trends and practices in the industry.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11]

XBIZ and its affiliated publications and services are operated by Adnet Media, founded in 1998 by adult-internet industry veteran Alec Helmy.[2][12] Helmy is a founder of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP).[13]

XBIZ hosts multiple annual trade conferences for industry professionals:[4]

  • The XBIZ Los Angeles Conference features adult entertainment business seminars, industry debates, state-of-the-industry discussions, keynotes from industry luminaries, and celebrity appearances. The event is held in February of each year in Los Angeles, and culminates with the annual XBIZ Awards.[18] The 2010 conference was held in Hollywood, California. The LA co media trade event designed to explore current and future market trends, the newest technologies, emerging business models, and networking events, and i includes a trade fair so industry vendors can showcase their current products. The conference hosts the annual membership meeting of The Free Speech Coalition, the advocacy and trade association for the adult entertainment industry, and coincides with the annual XBIZ Awards, the adult industry’s biggest business awards show.[19]
  • On March 22, 2010, XBIZ announced the debut of its outdoor adult consumer event, XFANZ Summer Expo, held June 10–11, 2010, poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.[20]
  • The XBIZ Summer Forum is a business-to-business (B2B) networking event for the online adult entertainment industry. The forum is held annually at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and like the Los Angeles conference, features appearances by well-known figures from the adult entertainment industry. The featured entertainment for the 2008 conference included porn-star bikini contests and porn-star Karaoke.[21]

The annual XBIZ Awards honor excellence in the creation and marketing of adult entertainment. The awards coincide with the XBIZ Conference.[22] Organized by the adult industry trade magazine XBIZ, the awards were first given in 2003.[23] The award nominations are submitted by members of the adult entertainment industry, and the finalists are voted for by XBIZ staff, industry colleagues and participating peer organizations.[24] The awards were originally created to recognize business achievement in the online adult industry, but in recent years adult movie, novelty, retail, and people's choice categories have also been added.[25] The 2010 awards are to be hosted by adult entertainment stars Teagan Presley and Sunny Leone.[26]
