Tahoua is a city in Niger and the administrative centre of the Department of Tahoua and the larger Tahoua Region.[2] It has a population of 99,900 (2004).

Overview
The city is primarily a market town for the surrounding agricultural area, and a meeting place for the Tuareg people from the north and the Fulani people from the south. Phosphates and gypsum are mined there as well.
It is divided into a pair urban municipalities: Tahoua I and Tahoua II.
