Seda Demir (born June 21, 1994) is a Turkish women's ice hockey player. Curremtly, she is a member of HC Litvínov team in Litvínov, Czech Republic playing in the forward position. She takes part in the Turkey women's national ice hockey team. Seda Demir was born in Altındağ, Ankara on June 26, 1994.[1]
Career
Club
Seda Demir started her ice hockey career at the age of fourteen in Başkent Yıldızları in her hometown.[3][4][5] There, she played three seasons.[3][4] Then, she moved to Milenyum Paten SK and finally to Genç Ankaralılar, where she enjoyed championships.[3][4] With Milenyum Paten SK, Demir took part at the 2012–13 IIHF European Women's Champions Cup - Group B matches.[3][4]
In 2012, she won the "International Tachov Women Challenge Cup" in the Czech Republic with her team, she was the captain of.[3][4] In October 2013, Seda Demir was transferred by the Czech Extraliga-team HC Litvínov.[1][3][4][5][6] She became so the first ever Turkish women's ice hockey player to join a foreign team.[3][4][5][6]
Played for Istanbul Buz Korsanları, she was named Most Valuable Player of the 2013–14 Turkish Ice Hockey Women's League (TBHBL).[7]
International
She was called up for the Turkey national team, and played in the 2011 Women's World Ice Hockey Championships – Division V in Sofia, Bulgaria and 2013 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II Group B qualification matches in Izmir, Turkey.[4][8][9][10][11] She scored two goals against Bulgaria in the World championship match.[10][11]
