Rustam Mammad oglu Mustafayev (25 February 1910, Baku—19 July 1940) was an Azerbaijani scenic designer and one of the pioneers of Azerbaijani decorative theatrical art. Having graduated from the Azerbaijan Art Academy in 1926, Mustafayev revealed some constructivist influences in his early works. Starting from the mid-1930s Mustafayev created the pictorial scenic decorations, such as those for Ashig Garib opera (1939) and Arshin Mal Alan operetta (1940). Mustafayev worked with major Azerbaijani playwrights Jafar Jabbarly and Huseyn Javid.[1]

Mustafayev was buried at the Alley of Honor in Baku,[1] where he died. The Azerbaijan State Museum of Art is named after him.
