Winter Games

The Philippines first sent athletes to compete at the Olympic Games in 1924, making it the first country to compete and win a medal in Southeast Asia. The nation has competed at every Summer Olympic Games since then, except when they participated in the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics. Filipino athletes have also competed at the Winter Olympic Games on four different occasions since 1972.

The Philippines first participate at the Winter Olympic Games in 1972, who sent two alpine skiers.[1]

Filipino athletes have won a total of nine Olympic medals, with boxing as the top medal-producing sport. [2] With Mongolia winning its first gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics, the Philippines now holds the record for the most medals without a gold.[3]

The National Olympic Committee of the Philippines is the Philippine Olympic Committee, founded in 1911 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1929.
