The National Motor Museum, Birdwood, is an automobile museum in Birdwood, South Australia.[1][2] Established in 1964 and opened to the public soon afterwards,[3] it is Australia's largest motor museum,[4] with over 300 vehicles on display.[2]

The museum was started by Jack Kaines and Len Vigar in 1964, and was purchased by the South Australian Government in 1976, holding a large and historically important collection of cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles.

The museum is housed in a modern complex adjacent to its original home, the "Old Mill" in Shannon Street, Birdwood.[1][4]

It is the endpoint of the annual Bay to Birdwood run [1], in which vintage motor vehicles are driven by their owners from Glenelg past the city and through the hills to finish at the museum where a festival is held.
