Mark Hentemann (born April 24, 1969) is an American animation writer. He is the executive producer and showrunner of the animated series Family Guy, where he started as a writer in its first season. In addition, Hentemann has also provided voices for many minor characters on Family Guy, including the "Phony Guy" and Opie.[2]

Hentemann has also written for the Late Show with David Letterman.[2] Hentemann is currently working with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane on the animated series, Bordertown. The series premiered on Fox in 2016[3] on the networks Sunday Funday lineup.

Career

Hentemann grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and began his career as a greeting card writer and illustrator for American Greetings.[4] His cards caught the interest of David Letterman and allowed him his first job in television writing for The Late Show.

Mark Hentemann joined Family Guy in its first season as a writer, and later became executive producer and showrunner, with fellow writer Steve Callaghan. He has written, produced and provided voice acting on several half-hours, including 3 South, which he created for MTV.

Hentemann is working on animated sitcom Bordertown, which he created and is executive producing. Bordertown is expected to premiere on Fox during the 2015-16 television season,[3] taking the place of American Dad! which relocated to TBS. Bordertown focuses on Bud Buckwald, a border line agent who has three children, and Ernesto Gonzales, an immigrant from Mexico who is happy to be with his family in the United States.[5]

Personal life

Mark Hentemann lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynne, and they have three children. Hentemann attended Cleveland Saint Ignatius High School and Miami University.
