James Henry Preas (June 22, 1893 – January 1965) was an American football coach.[1][2] Preas was the first head football coach at The Apprentice School in Newport News, Virginia and he held that position for three seasons, from 1919 until 1921. His coaching record at Apprentice was 18–3–1. [3]
In 1919, he married Evangeline Horman.[4] He died in 1965 and was buried in his hometown.[5]
